Environmental aesthetics is an aesthetic and philosophical study of the relationship between man and environment, which is based on phenomenology. Phenomenology emphasizes the breakthrough of binary opposition and the experience of "exist" as a state of continuous generation. Environmental aesthetics proposes a mode of intervention where people are completely immersed in the environment and interact with it. And this has formed a dialogue that spans time and space with Chinese philosophy and aesthetics of "man is an integral part of nature", the "artistic conception" and "the fusion of feelings with the nature settings". Experiencing Xiao Hong's works through environmental aesthetics is essentially treating her works as a gradually unfolding and generated world, and exploring how this world "exists". Color is a prominent and primitive visual experience, which is an important way to observe and express the world. Exploring the "colors" in Xiao Hong's works reveals that red, white, green, and gold are the most commonly used colors. And the combination of these colors and their implied emotions have undergone regular changes in the sequence of Xiao Hong's works. By exploring this change, people can better perceive the atmosphere and emotions of the world she constructs, as well as the "real" connotation of the work.
