譯介中國：以海外網絡⽂學翻譯爲例 

Translating Chineseness: A Case Study of Overseas Translation and  Dissemination of Chinese Internet Literature 

Abstract:

自20世紀90年代起，當代文學迎來了數字媒體轉型，形成了“互聯網+文學”的新模式，由此形成的中國網絡文學不僅“對傳統的文學觀念和創作與傳播體制形成强烈的衝擊”，在東西方文化交流的過程中，也改變了華語文學在世界文學的整體面貌。在這一進程中，由美籍華人賴靜平成立的第一家中國網絡文學英譯網站www.wuxiaworld.com（武俠世界），在沒有任何官方資助的情況下，作爲海外民間力量主動向世界各地的網絡讀者譯介中國網絡文學，大獲成功，迄今爲止仍然是譯介中國網絡文學最熱門的網站。

本講座以Wuxiaworld為案例研究，對 中國網絡文學海外譯介的現狀與整體表現進行描述性分析，展現所謂“民間力量”是如何成功實現中國網絡文學的海外譯介。本講座通過構建翻譯傳播體系，分析網文出海過程中翻譯傳播主體、訊息、譯者、媒介、受體以及效果等要素，以及各要素相互作用下形成的傳播模式對於網文出海過程及效果產生的影響。同時，討論虛擬翻譯社區背後的版權、審查制度、網站運作、發展方向等主要問題，以期為華語世界的網文出海之旅提供一定的啓示。

Since the 1990s, contemporary literature has ushered in the transformation of digital media, forming a new model of “internet + literature”. Chinese internet literature not only “strongly impacts the traditional literary concept, creation and communication system”, but also changes the “overall appearance of Chinese literature in world literature”. In this process, the first English translation-based website of Chinese internet  literature, www.wuxiaworld.com, the most popular website for translating Chinese  internet literature, founded by the American Chinese Lai Jingping, successfully introduces Chinese internet literature to readers around the world as an overseas non- governmental organization without any official funding.   

Providing a descriptive analysis of the situation and overall presentation of the overseas translation and dissemination of Chinese internet literature, the study, by using Wuxiaworld as a case study, demonstrates how so-called “civilian forces” successfully achieve the overseas journey of Chinese internet literature. The study constructs the system of translational communication, analyzing the main elements, including subjects, messages, translators, media, receptors, and effects, during the process of translating Chinese internet literature, as well as the influence of communication model formed by the interaction of the elements on the process of overseas dissemination of Chinese internet literature. It also discusses copyright, review system, website operation, development direction, and other main issues behind the virtual community of translational behavior, in order to provide certain inspirations for the overseas journey of Chinese internet literature in the Chinese-speaking world.
