CHIN1213 民俗學與現代中國文化(6學分)
本課為學分制(6學分)暑期強化課程,探討中國民俗學的一系列重要議題,包括神話傳說、民間故事、史詩、歌謠、民間曲藝、建築、服飾及節慶習俗等,這些議題對現代中國社會產生了廣泛而深遠的影響。課程亦將介紹民俗學、人類學及文化研究的理論,幫助學生思考中國民俗文化的延續和變異。我們將邀請民間藝人到課堂交流非遺技藝傳承,並有即場表演和親身體驗。此外還組織參觀和田野考察,包括東嶽廟、民俗博物館、妙峰山等地點,通過實踐學習,加深學生對北京及華北地區典型民俗文化的理解。
本課為國家教育部批准的“香港大學千人內地交流計劃”項目,由港大中文學院與北大中文系合作開辦。所有教學活動,包括講座、導修、工作坊報告、小組項目等,在北京大學進行。
港大中文學院將協調學生赴京的行程。北大中文系負責安排在京期間的住宿、交通等方面。學生需預繳課程費,並預訂赴京機票/火車票,及辦理旅行證件及保險。

2026 HKU-PKU Summer Course
CHIN1213 Folklore and Modern Chinese Culture (6 credits)
This is a 6-credit intense summer course. It explores a series of prominent aspects in Chinese folklore, including myths and legends, folktales, epics, folk songs, theatrical performances, architecture, costumes, festivals, and customs that have in many ways affected modern Chinese society. It introduces theories in folklore, anthropology, and cultural studies to help students reflect on continuity and variation of Chinese folk culture. Folk artists will be invited to the classroom for exchange of Intangible Cultural Heritage transmission, with live performance and hands-on experience. There will also be site visits and field investigations, including the Dongyue Temple, Folk Culture Museum, Miaofeng Mount, etc. Through experiential learning, students will enhance their understanding of typical folk culture in Beijing area and North China.
This course is offered by the School of Chinese in collaboration with the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Peking University. It is one of the 2026 “HKU-China 1000 Exchange Scheme” programmes approved by the Ministry of Education. All teaching and learning activities, including lectures, tutorials, workshops, and group projects will be conducted at PKU.
The School of Chinese will coordinate students’ trip to PKU, and the Department of Chinese Language and Literature will arrange accommodation, local transportation, etc. in Beijing. Students need to pre-pay course fees. They should also book air/railway tickets beforehand and prepare travel documents and life/health insurance.
* Eligible Arts students can apply for the Faculty Global Exploration Fund, and claim the subsidy after the course is completed.
