米歐敏,現任香港大學中文系教授,前國立首爾大學中文系教授。于劍橋大學獲得碩士學位,倫敦大學亞非學院獲得中國古代文學專業博士學位。她的研究領域為:周代吳國與越國的歷史和文化,中國古代文學中關於后宮的文言小説,以及中國先秦與漢-唐時期的邊緣人群(譬如雙性人、殘疾人、智能障礙者等)。其重要出版著述包含《越國的榮耀:越絕書譯》(2010);《懷古:古代吳國的文化遺跡》(2013);《中華帝國早期的城市化:蘇州的地方志》(2015);《晏子春秋譯注》(2016);《椒房中的皇后:趙飛燕在中國文學和歷史上的位置》(2021)和《新列國志譯注》(2022)。此外,她還翻譯了麥家、馮驥才、蔣子龍、方方、蘇彤等多位當代作家的小説,獲得過中國圖書特殊貢獻獎(2018)。

 

Olivia Milburn is currently Professor at the School of Chinese, Hong Kong University and was formerly employed at the Department of Chinese, Seoul National University. She received her MA from Cambridge and PhD from SOAS, University of London. Her research focuses mainly on the history and culture of the ancient kingdoms of Wu and Yue, and the position of minorities and marginalized groups in early and medieval China, such as intersex persons, the disabled, and so on. In addition, Olivia Milburn has engaged in research on the early history of the novel in China. Her books include The Glory of Yue: An Annotated Translation of the Yuejue shu (2010); Cherishing Antiquity: The Cultural Construction of an Ancient Chinese Kingdom (2013); Urbanization in Early and Medieval China: Gazetteers for the City of Suzhou (2015); The Spring and Autumn Annals of Master Yan (2016); The Empress in the Pepper Chamber: Zhao Feiyan in History and Fiction (2021); and a translation of Feng Menglong’s Kingdoms in Peril: A Novel of the Ancient Chinese World at War (2022). Her modern literature translations, recognized with the Special Book Award of China in 2018, include works by Mai Jia, Feng Jicai, Jiang Zilong, Fang Fang, and Su Tong.
