Dr. Xue Zhang is a lecturer at the School of Chinese, the University of Hong Kong. Her research interests include Chinese linguistics, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, and international Chinese education. She has worked in the tertiary institutions like Hong Kong Polytechnic University, the Chinese University of Hong Kong (Shenzhen), Macao University of Science and Technology, and served as a programme coordinator and postgraduate supervisor. Dr. Zhang's undergraduate and doctoral studies were both in Chinese linguistics. She has published several academic papers or chapters in both Chinese and English on Chinese syntax, semantics, and pragmatic interfaces, and has led several related research projects. At the same time, she also focuses on the interaction between language and society, Chinese language education, digital humanities and other fields, and has a number of research results. Dr. Zhang is a member of several Chinese language studies professional associations and has received several teaching awards.
