姚曉芳,墨爾本大學應用語言學博士,澳洲NAATI和中國CATTI認證譯員。研究方向為語言及符號景觀,致力於從社會語言學角度探究華人移民和少數族裔社群中的多語現象。
Xiaofang Yao (PhD, University of Melbourne) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Chinese at the University of Hong Kong. She is a NAATI and CATTI certified translator and interpreter in Australia and China. She specializes in sociolinguistic studies of Chinese diaspora and minority communities in the context of urban multilingualism, with particular interests in the relationship between language and space. Her research monograph Power, Affect and Identity in the Linguistic Landscape: Chinese Communities in Australia and Beyond (2024, Routledge) expands the boundaries of linguistic landscape from urban to rural, from linguistic to semiotic, and from physical to digital. Her publications have appeared in top-tier SSCI and A&HCI indexed journals, such as Applied Linguistics Review, Australian Review of Applied Linguistics, International Journal of Multilingualism, Journal of Multilingual and Multicultural Development, Language Policy, Language & Communication, and Social Semiotics.
