黃阡薇博士於香港大學取得中國語言習得博士學位，攻讀博士期間獲頒全額研究生獎學金。其後，她繼續於香港中文大學醫學院進修，並取得溝通障礙與科學專業文憑。黃博士自2006年起先後於香港大學、香港都會大學及新加坡社科大學從事學術研究與教學工作。她的主要研究領域為粵語及普通話第一語言習得、漢語作為第二語言教與學，以及中國語文教育。

Dr. Eileen Wong earned her PhD from The University of Hong Kong (HKU), specialising in early Chinese language acquisition. She was awarded a Postgraduate Scholarship for her doctoral studies. She subsequently completed a PDip in Communication Disorders and Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK). Before joining the School of Chinese, Dr. Wong gained extensive teaching and research experience in higher education, serving as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Advancement of Chinese Language Education and Research (CACLER) at HKU and as an Associate Faculty Member at the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS). Her primary research interests lie in first language acquisition of Cantonese and Mandarin, teaching and learning Chinese as a second language, and Chinese language education.
