About the JOS 學報簡介

Founded in 1954 at the University of Hong Kong, the Journal of Oriental Studies has long been one of the premier bilingual academic journals of Chinese humanities studies. The JOS publishes scholarly articles and book reviews in English and Chinese on Chinese and global Sinophone studies, including cross-cultural and transnational treatments of inter-Asian and global interaction and exchange from any time period. Subjects of consideration could involve such humanistic areas as literature, history, philosophy, religion, linguistics, and translation; submissions of interdisciplinary research are especially welcome.

The Journal of Oriental Studies is published by the School of Chinese at HKU and the Center for Chinese Language and Cultural Studies at Stanford University, in partnership with the Chung Hwa Book Co., (HK) Ltd. We welcome proposals for special features in addition to submissions of individual articles for open call issues. All articles are refereed via a double-blind peer review process. We publish twice a year.
