西晉（265-316）光熙元年（306），東海王司馬越（?-311）殺惠帝司馬衷（259-307，290-307在位），擁立其弟豫章王司馬熾（284-313，307-311在位），是為晉懷帝。同年，東海王又殺河間王司馬顒（?-306），結束了長達十六年的皇室內亂。在這樣的歷史背景下，晉懷帝與東海王關係的發展變幻，在一定意義上說成為西晉存亡的關鍵問題。是次演講將會以不同的史料探討晉懷帝與司馬越的政治鬥爭與其影響。
Emperor Hui of Jin (259-307) was killed by Prince of Donghai (?-311) in 306. Prince of Donghai then acclaimed Emperor Hui’s younger brother Prince of Yuzhang (284-313) Emperor Huai of Jin. In the same year, Prince of Donghai killed Prince of Hejian (?-306), ending 16 years of civil wars between the princes. In this historical background, the development of the relationship between Emperor Huai of Jin and Prince of Donghai was changing, which in a certain sense became the key problem of the survival of the Western Jin Dynasty. Drawn from different historical materials, this talk explores their political struggle and its influence.
