林姵吟博士,現當代文學副教授,2012年開始在中文學院執教,此前曾在英國劍橋大學,倫敦大學,和新加坡國立大學任教。2020年秋季擔任荷蘭萊頓大學台灣講座訪問教授,2015/2016獲選哈佛大學燕京學社訪問學者(2015-2016),也曾任倫敦大學亞非學院博士後研究員。著有多篇關於現當代中文文學(尤其是台灣文學)的中、英文論文,也翻譯過數篇短篇小說。代表作為Colonial Taiwan: Negotiating Identities and Modernity through Literature (Brill, 2017)。講授的本科課程包括:1)二十世紀中國文學,現代性與國族;2)華語系文學與電影;3)台灣文學專題:日治時期到90年代。她指導過的博碩士論文範圍寬廣,囊括晚清至當代中、港、台、馬華、海外華文文學,以及東亞比較文學。
Dr Lin Pei-yin joined the School of Chinese, HKU in 2012. Prior to HKU, she was Lecturer in the Department of East Asian Studies, Cambridge, an assistant professor in the department of Chinese Studies of the National University of Singapore, and a part-time teacher and post-doctorate research fellow in modern Chinese literature at SOAS, University of London. She was selected as Chair of Taiwan Studies at Leiden for the fall semester 2020, and was a Harvard Yenching Visiting Scholar in 2015/2016. She has published widely on modern Chinese literature, with a focus on Taiwan. Her major publication is Colonial Taiwan: Negotiating Identities and Modernity through Literature (Brill, 2017).
She teaches three undergraduate courses: CHIN2152 “Literature, Modernity, and Nation in Twentieth-century China,” CHIN2153 “Sinophone Literature and Film,” and CHIN2154 “Taiwan Literature from the Japanese Colonial Period to the 1990s”. Dr Lin’s postgraduate supervision covers a wide range of topics and Sinophone works from late Qing to contemporary period, as well as East Asian comparative literature.
